IIS stands for Internet Information Services(it is the microsoft web server software), if you have any of the operating systems required, then you can insert the windows cd and install it from there.

    F.A.Q.:
Q I have firmware version <2.6 on my PSP- can I use this?
A Older PSP firmware versions should try a homebrew rss reader (not tested).
Q I get a IIS 4.0 or higher must be installed error/I have XP Home?
    A 2000/XP Home users should look http://adamv.com/dev/articles/iis-on-xp-home

Hi, I have installed v0.7.7 I cannot see where I should change entries in the web.config file. When I try to test the app. I get a not well formed XML file. The application seems to think default.aspx is an XML file(?)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times and I have run aspnet_regiis -i. aspnet_regiis -s requires a path(?)

I would love to see this running.. please help!

i have every single thing set up now and have just added all the media as rss. when i go to play the music in rss channel it says "A server error has occured. (HTTP Status Code: 401)

  39. # Anonymous Anonymous

    401 Unauthorized

The request requires user authentication. The response MUST include a WWW-Authenticate header field (section 14.47) containing a challenge applicable to the requested resource. The client MAY repeat the request with a suitable Authorization header field (section 14.8). If the request already included Authorization credentials, then the 401 response indicates that authorization has been refused for those credentials. If the 401 response contains the same challenge as the prior response, and the user agent has already attempted authentication at least once, then the user SHOULD be presented the entity that was given in the response, since that entity might include relevant diagnostic information. HTTP access authentication is explained in "HTTP Authentication: Basic and Digest Access Authentication"

A 401 error means the user does not have access to the volume that your music is stored in. Ensure that the read/write access is set using the IIS manager, and ensure asp.net has required permissions to the volume using windows explorer.

Also check that you are not pointing your virtual volume (PSP) to a root directory.

No problem adding the RSS channels to ma PSP or playing the MP3s but none of them have titles and the file names still have %20 for every space. The channels all have names. Copied from the HTML output.

what version OS are you running?

I am using PSPMediaServer Version0.7.7 on Japanese Windows2000Sp4 in Japan .

No problem adding the RSS channels to my PSP.
But the MP3 files cannot be reproduced by the server error's going out.
And the title is not displayed.

When the XML source was examined.
A Japanese language file name replaces "??????????????".
Seems not to be able to refer by becoming it.

I hope, please support Japanese language file name and ID3tag.

Japanese language character-code is multi byte .

The under is a part of strange XML.

It would be perfect if it was possible to recurse into sub directories. Or am I missing a trick?

make sure anonymous access is enabled on both virtual directories (in iis manager),
and make sure Integrated Windows Auth is disabled.

In my iis manager, "Default Web Site" says stopped. When I try to start it I get the error message: Unexpected error 0x8ffe2740 occurred. I am assuming the fact that Default Web Site is stopped that is the reason the I can not get to http://192.168.x.x/PSP or http://192.168.x.x/PspMediaServer I get "Not Found" errors when trying to load either address in Firefox. I have read this blog and have tried everything I read so far and still can not seem to get this to work.

I'm using xp pro sp2 and am using "WiFiMAX to provide the wi-fi from my broadband connection to my psp.

    Any suggestions?

The two posts above this one are from me too. I finally got the pspmediaserver page to load up on my psp but when the rss feed does not include all of my mp3's. I have tried one directory at a time and I've tried adding all media. The other problem I am having is that I get a 404 error when I try to play one of the songs.
